   1 Allow Circulation Renewal for Expired Patrons

   3 The "Allow renewal request if renewal recipient privileges have
   4 expired" organizational unit setting can be set to true to permit
   5 expired patrons to renew circulations.  Allowing renewals for expired
   6 patrons reduces the number of auto-renewal failures and assumes that a
   7 patron with items out eligible for renewals has not been expired for
   8 very long and that such patrons are likely to renew their privileges
   9 in a timely manner.

  11 The setting is referenced based on the current circulation library for
  12 the renewal.  It takes into account the global flags for "Circ: Use
  13 original circulation library on desk renewal instead of the
  14 workstation library" and "Circ: Use original circulation library on
  15 opac renewal instead of user home library."
